Construction progresses Monday–Friday from 7am–4pm. With multiple work zones along a mile-long Oak Park Avenue corridor, coordinated crews (focused on a wide range of roads, pipes, cable and conduits) are on site every single workday to complete this massive infrastructure project on time and on budget.

1. Outer blocks are due to reopen to traffic on June 12. Milling, paving, and adjusting all manhole collars to grade—the new road height—continue all this week and through next week from Lake to Ontario streets and from Pleasant to Randolph streets.

2. Let there be light. All-new streetlights, arriving in October, will match the historically styled ‘high-and-low’ light poles already gracing renovated Lake and Marion streets throughout Downtown Oak Park. But work to install temporary light poles to ensure safety continues for now.

3.  With Union Pacific Railroad crews completing steel girder repairs and preparing to tackle concrete work on its overpass embankment under the Green Line, we thought it timely to ask this trivia question:
