1. Brickwork will continue for several months. Nearly the entire construction zone of north and south Oak Park Avenue, Hunter Court, and the intersections of its main streets, will be covered by long-wearing brick pavers in the coming months. Bricklaying in intersections will result in occasional road closures and detours while bricks are set. Work crews will gradually change to include skilled masons, and the pace and scope of brickwork will expand as concrete pouring continues north of North Boulevard. 2. Concrete work has concluded south of the tracks. Shoppers—and business owners—are enjoying the sidewalks again as a majority of the ramps have been removed from Pleasant St. to South Boulevard. The final detailed work of finishing up involved the pouring of curbs connecting sidewalks to roadbeds. Ramp access to businesses will return later this month for all Hemingway District businesses along Oak Park Avenue between North Boulevard and Lake Street. Old concrete removal began in the north earlier this week. 3. Longtime local resident and runner is August’s Bike to the Biz winner.
