With the mercury having dropped, construction work has been postponed for at least one more week until weather conditions are more favorable. Safety first: equipment can malfunction when temperatures remain below 20 degrees. So, for the coming week:
Oak Park Avenue will remain completely open to all traffic until at least Monday, Feb. 2 due to expected below-freezing temperatures.
Street parking will be permitted on Oak Park Avenue from Lake to Ontario and Randolph to Pleasant until the closures go into effect on Monday, Feb. 2.
Did you know? The sewer lines and water mains due to be replaced are more than a century old. Much of Oak Park’s 105-mile network, including brick sewers and cast-iron water pipes in the project area, date back to the late 1890s – early 1900s.
