The Village of Oak Park and the Hemingway District just launchedBike to the Biz to encourage Oak Parkers, River Foresters, Forest Parkers and Chicagoans to shop, dine, snack and sip all summer long in the Hemingway District as construction continues. With more than 170 bike spaces available (including a new red bike ‘corral’ along Oak Park Avenue near Lake Street), the July 1- October 31 promotion is timed to promote great shopping as part of adjacent summer and fall events, from Sunday Night Summer Concert Series at Scoville Park (through August 24) to the legendary Oak Park Farmers Market (Saturdays through November 14).
If you don’t have a bike, no worries! You can still enter to win $250 each month by collecting receipts ($10 minimum at 4 different participating businesses)—and convenient envelopes to store them in—from District retailers. To enter the monthly drawing, just drop your completed envelope off at The UPS Store Downtown Oak Park, open seven days a week.
Enjoy a relaxing Fourth of July! Why not cycle over to Oak Park’s parade? It steps off at 10 am Saturday at Longfellow Park (Ridgeland Avenue at Adams Street). However you celebrate, please stay cool—and hydrated!
