Beginning Wednesday, February 4, 2026
Two one-block sections of Oak Park Avenue will be closed to traffic and street parking for the installation of a new sewer main from Randolph Street to Pleasant Street and new sewer and water mains from Lake Street to Ontario Street. Local traffic will still be able to navigate on and across Oak Park Avenue from Pleasant Street to Lake Street, including North and South boulevards.

Thru-traffic detours will begin at Madison Street for northbound traffic and at Chicago Avenue for southbound traffic. Harlem Avenue (trucks) and Ridgeland Avenue (vehicles) are the posted thru-traffic detour streets.

Local traffic and vehicular access to Hemingway Business District will be maintained during Stage 1.
